Important Special Announcement: ABC7 News Story Clarification

Last night, a story ran on our local ABC7 station that misleadingly implied that AYSO had cancelled our Fall Season.

This is NOT true and want to reinforce that the decision to host a fall program is determined by the local volunteer leadership of your Region in collaboration with your local Public Health Department.

We know that the decision to host a Fall program is challenging in the midst of the uncertainty created by the pandemic, but we ask that you continue to think outside the box to create a program, not a necessarily a traditional season, that will allow your community to enjoy soccer when it safe to do so.

Please note that the ABC7 news story that ran on July 23 mistakingly implied that AYSO had cancelled the Fall Season, which is not true. AYSO Guidance to all Regions is that return to play is allowed where permitted by local authorities, and when done in a manner that complies with local health-related guidance. Specific dates for program re-starts, where that is permissible, will be determined by our local board in collaboration with our Public Health Department.
